while looking thru listings i jotted done some questions.
naturally, i left them home. however my feeble mind has not completely
failed me:
1. i remeber seeming a "frmptr" or something like that defined and
mysteriously commented as dealing with spaghetti, but didn't see
any other momuments (yet). is there a package of spaghetti?
2. was is xfer lisp? appears to be a way of communication with pdp-10 lisp;
3. there's a comment about rivest's new oblist...
i will continue massaging listings; looks good so far. looks like
a close reative of prenner's s-lisp which i saw a few years ago.
i'll send a copy along... with a few words of warning.
1. it's NOT a lisp primer in the sense o weisemann. it is a text book
on computer science using lisp to motivate data structures, language
implemenation, compiler wtiting, and mtc. the current version still
has the informality of lecture notes and thus the writing style grates
heavily on some people's sensitivities.
2. several sections are very incomplete and many problems and projects
still need to be included. in particualr the last section
leading into mtc through mike gordon's thesis is not there. there is also
to be a section on machine architecture oriented to lisp implementation;
that section is in a "state of flux" to say the least.
however, please read it and if you wish, piss and moan about it to
me over the net. it is going to be published so the more input i get now
the better book it will be.
